What a great start to both the Breakfast and After School Clubs. At the Breakfast Club the children have been enjoying a healthy breakfast and playing games before they start their school day. At the After School Club we have had a great time outdoors playing and having fun.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated games and books to help get us started.
What a week it has been! We don't let the weather put us off; we were able to get outside and play all sorts of games: cricket, football, wheel-barrow racing and three-legged racing in between the rain showers.
Emma would like to say a big "Thank You!!" to all who signed her birthday card. She loved it!
Keep an eye out for posters around the school, letters home and start 'swotting up' on your general knowledge as Before and After School Club are going to be hosting a QUIZ NIGHT!!!!
Our Quiz Night is Friday 17th June 3:30-5pm in the school hall. You can have teams of up to 8 people (friends, family and even teachers can join in!) and pay a £4 fee. Entry forms are at the school office.
All proceeds go to the Before and After School Club.
Come and join in! Prizes are to be won!!!!!!!!
Emma would like to apoligise for stopping play at the Cricket Club on Wednesday night. One of our footballs got stuck in a tree and we were trying to come up with ways to get it out. Throwing a tennis ball didn't work. Throwing another football at it didn't work. Emma saw a stick half the height of her and thought that might work; it wasn't long enough, even with Emma jumping up and down. So in the end we came up with tying two cricket bats and a tennis racket to the stick which brought down the ball. Much to the delight of the children.
It took a lot of team work and a lot of laughter.
Just a quick reminder that we have our Quiz Night next Friday 17th June, so get your teams together. Forms can be collected (even filled in and paid for) at the school office. You only have 1 week!!!
We are preparing for the quiz night tomorrow night, so look out for our update and pictures of all the fun we had!!!!
A big thank you to Mrs Savage for her dontation this morning of games and a wooden train set. Any donations of games will always be greatly received.
Thank you to everyone who bought cakes this week. We've made £80 which will go towards more games and other activities for Before and After School Club.
Last night was the last After School Club of the term and today is the last day for Breakfast Club. Mrs Barnes, Adele and Emma have enjoyed our first term and can't wait to continue in September.
We hope that everyone has a fun and safe summer and we'll see you in September!!!!!
And we're back!!! What a fun filled week we've had at Before and After School Club. We all hope you had a good summer and ready to be back at school.
This week, we opened up our parcel from the Sainsbury's Active Kids Scheme - thank you to everyone who collected the vouchers! We've been playing with our new skipping ropes, footballs, tennis rackets (and net) plus many more! So keep a look out for new pictures on our page.
We're hoping to do some really exciting things this term, so please keep an eye out for updates on our page and posters dotted around the school.
What a glorious sunny week we've had! You would think it is July not September!!
This week at After School Club, we've been playing outside with our new equipment. The older children have also been showing the new Reception children how After School Club works and what we do. Thanks guys, you've all been a great help!
This week we were joined by the rest of the new Reception starters for both Breakfast and After School Club. They've all settled in really well and a massive 'Thank You!!' to the rest of the BASC children who helped to make them all feel welcome.
A date for your diary: Friday 25th November. That is the night we are having a Film Night! We haven't decided on a film yet but it will be one you'll definately want to see.
Coming soon to a school hall near you...
We've had good weather again this week at After School Club, so we've been outside playing all sorts of games, plus hunting for conkers! Wednesday and Thursday it was windy enough to have the kite out; the children loved it!
Just a quick reminder, if you wish to contact the Breakfast and After School Club during school hours, please ring the school office to pass your message on. If you ring the BASC mobile during school time, we won't get it until the end of the day.
This week at After School Club, the Receptions were proudly showing off their new reading books to everyone. What was even better was the older children sat, listened and helped the Receptions to read!
We've also been using Hama Beads to make all sorts of wonderful pictures and tonight, the After School Club children have been making crispy cakes - yum!!
Don't forget, Friday 25th November it's our Film Night. The film has been ordered, so keep a look out for poster around the school to tell you which film we will be showing!
This week at Breakfast and After School Club, we have been making some Christmas crafts in preparation for the School's Christmas Craft Fair. It isn't until December 3rd but we want to make sure that we have a lot to sell!!!
Finally it's half term!!! It's great to see Breakfast and After School Club is going from strength to strength; thank you all for your support. Don't forget, we have our Film Night The Secret Life of Pets (U), Friday 25th November in the School Hall between 3:15-5:30pm. Please come and support us, it will be a great night.
Have a happy and safe half term and we all look forward to seeing you for the next half term and it's all about Christmas!!!!
It's our first week back after half term and we're getting ready for Christmas!! We've got a stall at the school's Christmas Fayre and we're making decorations, reindeer dust and colouring a Christmas themed table cloth!
We also had a very busy night on Thursday. We had our maximum number of 24!! We are so pleased that the After School Club is popular with both parents and children. Thank you for the support.
There is only 1 week left before our Film Night. If you havn't got your tickets yet, there are still some available. Look out for photos...
A big thank you to Adele, Emma and Mrs Hole for helping out this week while Mrs Barnes has been on the Year 6 Residential trip. Adele helped out Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at After School Club, Emma helped every morning at Breakfast Club and Mrs Hole helped at After School Club on Thursday and Friday. We couldn't have done it without your help.
Last Saturday was the school's Christmas Fair. We sold the beautifully decorated pine cones, the sparkly hanging decorations, the glittery Reindeer dust and the yummy Snowman and Reindeer poo. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. We made over £100!!!!
For anyone who missed out buying our wonderful crafts; we'll be selling what we have left on Tuesday 13th December after school (3:15pm) from the ICT Suite window.
IT'S CHRISTMASSSSS!!!!!! It's our last day before Christmas and from Everyone at Breakfast and After School Club; we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We'll see you all in 2017!
We hope you have all had a good Christmas (and got all the presents you asked for) and a Happy New Year.
It's our first week back and we've bought new games for the children from the fundraising we have been doing since we started BASC last April. Thank you for supporting us and continuing to do so.
This week at BASC we've been trying different foods. Breakfast club have been having cereal and at After school club, we've been having sandwiches. Trying new fillings like tuna and cucumber and by the end of the week, the children were all expert sandwiches makers. Yum!!!
Next week, we'll be back to toast. Wonder what we'll have the week after...
It's been a busy couple of weeks here at Breakfast and After School Club, only Friday is a quieter night.
We've been making ornaments for a fairy garden with bits of wood from the trees that have been cut down in the school grounds. We've also been den making, draughts playing (a few Reception children happily beat Emma at ASC!), homework doing and practising skipping.
We try to get out when the weather is nice, but at the moment it's so cold; roll on spring, summer and a bit of sun!!
Have a great and safe half term!!!!
Wow, what a night!!!
Thank you to everyone who came to our very first quiz night. We hope to do more in the future.
Big thanks to Mr A and Mrs Cunningham who marked the questions.
Congratulations to the winning team and maybe next time for the runners up.
Here at After School Club, Mrs Barnes and Emma take their job very seriously. So when we were given more donated games, we decided to test them out.
We played Dolphin Basketball, Crazy Bugs and Hungry Frogs. It got quite competitive, so we thought it would be better to stay friends and leave the game playing to the children.
A big thank you to Annie who took these pictures!
Once again the weather has been fantasic; sunny and windy!
At After School Club we have made our own kites from plastic bags but Adele from Breakfast Club brought us a wonderful kite for us to use.
Thank you Adele from everyone at After School Club, we loved flying the kite, up to the highest height!!!
At After School club this week, we've been on a scavenger hunt.
Everyone enjoyed running around the school field finding all sorts of things like pinecones, Y-shaped twigs and a bag full of as much rubbish as you can find!!
Keep your comments coming in.
We've had some really nice ones so far and we'd love to hear more from you!
